I bought a Pentax WGII for my sports photos where I need underwater or at least serious waterproofness.

I like the files, but they dont auto rotate on SM? What's the orientation trigger to get them to auto rotate?
It is the purpose of life that each of us strives to become actually what he is potentially. We should be obsessed with stretching towards that goal through the world we inhabit.

If the camera comes with an auto rotation feature and you are sure that it's enabled, just upload one of the photos straight from the camera to SmugMug to test whether it's working. Keep in mind that the camera's orientation sensor might not be working properly underwater. Just review a photo on your camera's display to see if the orientation sensor is working properly. You may want to first try it out of the water under regular conditions to see how it's working.

Whenever we find the EXIF orientation tag in a photo, we rotate the photo automatically according to that info in the file.

If that's not happening with files you edited on your computer, it might be that your software doesn't properly support the EXIF auto rotation feature. Do you rotate files on your computer?
Which specific software do you open / edit your files with?
