While walking the fields I came on an old decaying house- walls covered with corregated steel and hidden and surrounded by fully grown trees in the woods. I only found it since a storm had blown a lot of the leaves off the trees. I didn't much like the colored image so I converted to B&W-some duo tone, using the channel mixer for the conversion and adding color with a color layer set to blend mode -Color (this stage done in RGB) and adjusted by bringing up the Blend If dialog box and setting the sliders as suggested in Gerg Gorman's technique. I also added grain and sharpened strongly to give it a gritty feel. The sun was low on the horizon and coming in towards the camera thru holes in roof and rafters. Tell me what you think stash or trash:

    Nice work.
I like them. Prefer the first, the second looks over-sharpened to me.

I like them also. I much prefer the first one, the wall is too close for my liking in the second.

Definitely some awesome architecture pics, I personally like the 2nd one more , maybe because the contrast is higher and its not as light as the first one, but both are definitely awesome, good job !!!!!!!!!!!clap.gifclap.gif

    Thanks Safari, JimM and Illum919
Yep the 2nd was over sharpened on purpose(actually both were) and as to the wall being too close in the second pic -I was against the back wall as far away as poss., it was a small house. I appreciate your comments, when doing this kind of thing in PS you never know how others will react to it. Wished I'd had these for Halloween!

Most deffenetly my cup of tea.I know of at least 50 old buildings within a 1/2 hours drive from my home.I always photograph them because when they're gone, they're gone forever.I only go inside when im with a buddy(mostly Tinbasher) just incase the floor gives way. Some of these are well over 100 years old and who knows what the floors are like. After seeing these photo's again im inspired to revisit some of my old buildings and get me some inside shots.Like I said before"these are my cup of tea"thumb.gif

Thanks for the advice on my b&w shots....ice

Very unusual but almost haunting images.. esp. the first one.
The B/W conversion is especially good... helps set the mood.

    Great job!
