Looking Up an Octagon House

Well, they're not so popular anymore, but octagon houses were somewhat popular in Victorian times. The design kept the house cool in the summer, and was really nifty to look up from the center.

Yes, but they don't really show off the architecture:
. The stove has a built in waffle maker. My son was ready to move in when he heard that.
The "painting" of the dog over the mantel is actually counted cross-stitch.
The first floor is quite cool-- temperature wise, that is. Old Fowler may have been on to something! Unfortunately, the upper floors aren't accessible.
