So I went "hunting" the minute I saw the theme this time and caught a Black Widow last week. Nothing says "bug off" to me like the hourglass.

I have been feeding her until I had a chance to shoot her. I have a "bug box" that I use sometimes, and this was the time. I shot her straight, and with gels (red, blue & double blue) with several SB-26's and a AB-1600. Yes, my wife is out of town.biggrin.gif

Here is the thing, I need help picking a "best" shot, so please let me know which you like best. And ANY suggestions to make one better are very welcome. Thanks!

#1 - I prefer the natural colors. Cool shot!

Is that an egg sack in #8?

Yep. They are easier to catch if you take the whole web. There were several egg sacs, but I haven't seen any babies yet.

I'm with you, Jenn. I am not terribly afraid of spiders, but I take exception to Black Widows.

I like the reprocessed one best.

How do you catch a black widow without getting bit?

Carefully. :D I wear leather gloves and use long tweezers to direct them into a jar. They really don't move very quickly. Except for that biting thing..
