    YES I installed it but was wondering if anyone is using this program?

    I had to import the images on a ext. HD of about 12,000 images but must have had the prevent duplicates box UNCHECKED now I have about 61,000 images in this catalog.

    I ran this program it comes up with 41k duplicates and I want to just scream.

    Does anyone see a solution to this madness?

    i just ran the trial version
    as i expected ; no real duplicates

    all it found , along side my RAWs were ;
    PSD files and edited files ( TIFFs ) created with PhotoShop , which are not duplicates IMO

    click the "Found Duplicates" icon in left pane , under Collection and compare your dupes

    from there you can also delete them , if you please

    So a question I posted elsewhere concerns this duplicates issue and how to quickly resolve this today.

    The images are still in the Previous Import Collection.

    If I delete this collection and the 41,000 images or catalog entries, will this return me to the PRE-IMPORT state I was in before this accident?

    Thanks you

    Yes, if you have them in the Previous Import Collection and select delete it will remove them. I have double imported a few times and that has worked. Just make sure you chose your delete option carefully.

    Just when I understand what someone says , they throw a curve at the end Laughing.gif

    Now what do you mean by "delete option carefully?" Laughing.gif

    thanks

    The software will ask you if you want to remove them from the catalog. Then it will ask if you want to delete the images from the disk. I can't answer that question for you, so I leave that to you. What I have done when I am not sure is deleted them and then taken them from the trash to a USB drive.

    Backup early, backup often, label backups.
