Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to add my WM in LR3 when using the SM "publish" feature. I have always just added the WM I have created suring the export process but am starting to finally use the publish feature now which is saving me ALOT of time. Although, I cant seem to figure out how to get the images watermarked first.

Any ideas?

I started adding my watermark in LR4 when I export from RAW to JPG. I used to do it in Faststone image viewer as a batch process, but that was an extra step in my workflow. I also embed my watermark into the metadata when I import my raw files into LR4. I have not tried the watermarking at time of publishing to SmugMug, but one would think that it would slow that process down, as it has to apply the watermark before it sends it.

The per-gallery setting of adding a watermark doesn't do what you want? I've never tried to add one on publishing to SmugMug, but you should be able to edit the settings for it to add a watermark as you upload.

As DavidTO pointed out, you can watermark the photos on export...but the problem with using this method, is that your original on SmugMug will be watermarked...therefore, if make your photos available for sale, any prints will also have your watermark on them.

An alternate approach is to enable Watermarking in the gallery settings when you create them....

Using this method, display copies will be watermarked but not the original.
