Assigned shooting under harsh light (thoughts and ideas pls)

Also attaching a few shots stalking a girl there
Use a lower aperture, if possible (the people are distracting) and shoot towards shade (the bright background is distracting and overpowers the flash).
The photos of the little girl are about a stop underexposed, and she's probably a bit too close to the wall (I find that barely OOF brick distracting).
The second picture (the chick standing under the tree) came out looking pretty good though
