Found a seasonal pond a few yards from the Tioga Pass entrance gate. The lighting wasn't the best, but that's what I had.

As a side-note. I wasn’t happy with the near-noon conditions of this image. On Monday, Tioga Pass was closed due to a spring winter storm. The park re-opened it this morning. My wife gave me the green light to go back to Yosemite, so I guess I’m going to re-visit this location Wednesday morning… 8)

I definitely like the B&W version better. It might be the higher contrast that I liked better. The B&W adds a bit of foreground subject matter to help create depth in the shot. When you head back try and get more foreground subject matter.

This tarn was pretty much dried up when I re-visited on Wednesday. I found two more locations with plenty of foreground elements. I'll post some when I get some time...
