So I did a family photo session a couple weeks ago would love some feedback. The family was happy with their images and ordered several prints. But I'm always looking to improve!

This session was originally supposed to take place at a local beach but it was to crowed and there was no parking. We ended up having to move to a local park instead.

Thanks!

#5 The color looks off to me in this one, but the family still loved it. The print (11x14) actually turned out better that I thought it would as well.

That is some cool local park you guys have. Lake, trees.. cool area.

    1. is a decent candid shot.
    2. Looks like it was overexposed, then pulled back to a usable form - hot spot on the girls cheek, discoloration, grey tones, aberration above trees. I do like the comp
    3. good emotion, but background is questionable.
    4. A touch underexposed imho. I like her smile in that one
    5. same as above. got to be mindful of the hair..
    6. haaaarsh flash. and there was quite a bit of a dodge tool used to light the child up.

It appears you shot in a harsh sunlight.. that in itself is a pain, and take a lot of skill. I'm sure it made it hard to judge some of the exposures.

You are correct I shot in some harsh lighting. But I had no control over the time of day as we worked around nap times.

#1 was the favorite of the parents as they saod it fits him perfectly. He always has something in his hands and is on the move. Thats why all mu shots of him are candids I wad always running around trying to guess what he was going to do next and compose my shot.

    I appreciate your feedback.

Most of them are shot with natural light.

    Thanks for the compliment though!
