I kinda liked this shot but is there too much clutter in your opinion?:scratch
I kinda think there is too many verticals....but want some opinions.:dunno
Leaves were supposed to be the focal point in the shot.

Well, the leaves certainly are the focal point. That's ensured by the sharp focus and their color. I will agree with you that it's a tad busy but I'm a guy who spends a lot of time tramping in the bush so I understand how busy it can get and I won't criticize that. The only thing that really bothers me is the small trees in the foreground that are out of focus. This may be a personal hangup with me but I usually find that anything out of focus in the foreground is distracting. I'm OK with out of focus backgrounds.

You're in upstate NY not too far from us here in East/central Ontario. I think we all had a really crappy fall in this area this year and I commend you for picking out a nice spot of color in the midst of all the "blaah".

Yes it's been a lousy fall and as you well know many things in nature that are of intrest tend to be in WELL established woodland.

    Ok some fun with this!
I played with CS2 Script Mike Framer and came up with this.

Looking at it this way is just as if your looking out the 2nd floor window of your log cabin!:D
So the extra out of focus stuff gives it a real time 3D effect.
But I was just playing around.ne_nau.gif

for me...it is cool. it would be awesome if you could hang it like that. with each segment in a different frame. i think that would give it a nice effect.

great sharpening on photoshop. it really pops.clap.gif

Hey Man, I like it in the frames. Not only because it looks terrific but now the out of focus trees work because they provide a framework for the subject which has now become the large tree trunk in the two left frames. I think the the upper left frame could stand on it's own as a complete picture. This is really cool. Quite creative. Good job thumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gif
