Nice work! I've been wanting to get down to Reading for years, but between my air show the week before, and NASCAR at Pocono, I haven't gotten there. The P-40 in your first shot is one of our aircraft, I think we had our P-47 there as well.

One critique - watch your horizons! A few of your shots could use some rotation to make them level.

You got yourself some nice shots. I have one major critique, however. When shooting prop-driven aircraft, you must shoot at a slow enough shutter speed to blur the props. The great majority of the pictures lack a sense of realism because the props are frozen. Get a handle on that issue and you'll be fine.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

I have been working on the shutter speed in relation to the prop. I am finding it hard to get a good balance between sharpness and the "blur" that I want

Here are a few more that I Shot

Moose, Which Shots are you referring to about the horizon?

Moose, Which Shots are you referring to about the horizon?
These three for starters...they all need some clockwise rotation. Check the building behind the B-29/P-51 as well as the building, antenna and light poles in the third. A couple of the later photos you posted could use some rotation also. Don't worry - I need to tweak the horizon on some of my shots too.

Those look much better! I usually start at 1/250 second for aircraft in flight, and work my way down from there. You need to smoothly pan with your subject and squeeze off some shots. It takes practice, but the results are worth it. I've handheld shots of aircraft stopped on the ramp with engines running at 1/20 second...practice, practice, practice!

That's my friend Dan Dameo flying the P-40, a great guy and a slick pilot, and it is a sweet looking airplane!
