Adding a page with no pictures

pardon a dumb question....
but I've seen a few galleries with links to other pages that have text only, that is they are not other gallery pages. Here are two examples:
http://www.emphoto.com/pricing.emp
http://www.picturesink.com/pricing.htm
How is this accomplished?
I only see a "add a gallery" button.
What am I missing? sorry if this has been addressed. I have to admit I have not searched since I don't know what term to search for.

Thanks

The most common way to do it is to create a new gallery, set it to only be in Journal style. Add one image to it that's relevant to your page. Then put your own HTML into the caption for the image. You will get a page with one image and as much of your own custom HTML as you want. You could then use CSS styling for that gallery to hide various navigation pieces on the page if you wanted.

Another way is to see this for the "page of HTML theme". In essence, you make a gallery and change the CSS style so all you see on the page is the gallery description and then you put your own HTML into the gallery description.

I should add that both of these are essentially "hacks". They are used by many, but are not official supported features of smugmug.

this method won't use your co-branding
HTML Only "theme" by John Friend

this method will use your co-branding
    HTML page, no photos

    example of above

Both are a cinch, and excellent ways to enrich your site.

The two examples that you looked at both have their splash page and most of the rest of their pages hosted off site. You won't easily be alble to get what they've got (although you can do it). Simply use the gallery description and upload a single photo.

Do I need to be a power to user to use one of these hacks to hide the "This is a brand new gallery with no photos" message? I've tried following the instructions on the links Andy provided, but I can't find where to paste the CSS code...
