ND filter Size for D5000 18-55mm

Hello.
I'm trying to figure out what size of ND filter I should get for my Nikon D5000 with the stock 18-55mm lens.
55mm I'm assuming but I wasn't sure how that worked.

Look on the end of the lens for a zero with a circle through it, and a number. That number is the filter size. Nearly every lens produced has that symbol and a number.

Best guess is 52mm. Some lenses don't have the filter size on the barrel, but it's almost certainly inside the lens cap.

Nikon makes a couple different 18-55s. Google yours with the phrase "filter size" and you should have your answer.
