Can I change the "Protected Gallery" button?

Like the subject line states.....

Can I change the "Protected Gallery" button? They're really ugly looking, IMHO. I think that it would look better if we could actually create our own (best case) or at least be allowed to choose one image from that gallery as the thumbnail, but with some other indication showing that it's a 'password protected gallery'.

I did search for an answer about this but came up empty....so if it's been asked before, my apologies...just point me in the right direction:-)
