hey everyone, I checked back a few pages and couldn't really find what I was looking for so I hope someone can point me in the right direction..
When I set my account up I planned on just using it for hosting, but as of recently I'm getting more into photographing events for friends and I have a photo shoot coming up in August for a friend. I want to be able to set up categories by what they are. (make sense?) basically I want it set up like my buddy's account. http://1320photography.smugmug.com/ and right now, mine is set up like this http://j-r-photos.smugmug.com/ How can I make subcategories and move what I have into them with out losing all my photos?

The first thing you should do is decide what you will use to categorize your galleries. You can use the standard smug categories, you can create your own, or you can use a combination of the two.
See help pages at:

You can change a galleries category and subcategory on the gallery settings screen.Once you have assigned your galleries to categories then you may want to show your galleries by category.

You can create a gallery without a photo. That is known as an HTML-only gallery. Some examples with the code you need can be viewed starting at http://allen-steve.smugmug.com/gallery/3235336. Click to other examples using the HTML Tutors tab on the navbar.
