Wood Ants, Pearl Bordered Fritillary, Bumble bee and a Longhorn Beetle

Out into the Wyre Forest with Phil, I found myself a little too close to a colony of Wood Ants. Fascinating creatures but there must have been thousands of them. I did end up with 6 or 7 on the outside of my jeans. They were promptly brushed off. Attempting to isolate one was proving impossible so well, I err moved back a little, took a shot and cropped

Longhorn Beetle (Natural light because the flash was too harsh on the beetle). Not often I get a natural light shot because I suck at them

good series , was a good day.
wish i had concentrated more on the bugs instead of hunting for butts so much!!!!!!!!!
will have to go again to that meadow!!!! soon!

Cheers mate. Yes that Meadow was an amazing haven of wildlife. Reckon we could have done the whole day there and come out with hundreds of keepers.

I do have more shots I need to look at too, including the other two butterflies I photographed.
