Question on sharegroups

I read the sharegroup help but a couple of things are unclear to me.
The help text says:
Next, click Edit galleries on the right to choose the galleries that you want in the group.

ok, so the galleries which I want to include ("choose") already must be somewhere. But where? If they would be in the "normal" galleries that would not make sense because I want to restrict access to those galleries.

Second question: for upload I use exclusively the Lightroom plugin. How do I feed pictures from LR straight into such a share group ?
kind regards
Manfred

Sharegroups allow you to share Galleries in a single location, so that you don't need to send multiple links to multiple Galleries. The Galleries you want to "share" must already been in existence, so that they can be added to the Sharegroup. Check out:

You can upload directly from Lightroom to one of the Galleries in your Sharegroup:

bobbyhero already answered most of your questions, but I'd like to add a bit to this part... If you create "unlisted" galleries and then add them to a sharegroup, the will be invisible to anyone browsing your site, but will be visible to anyone who follows the sharegroup link directly. I use this to keep family galleries off of my site, but still allow family to share the link among themselves and friends, giving unrestricted access to anyone who is given the link.

Thank you Rob, that makes it clear !
