New neighbours

I was out in my garden a few days ago and discovered that this new, and rather prodigious, family had moved in - onto my house. I was not impressed.

Lovely shot Ceci. Where they on the outside of your home? I very much doubt you'll find any of these making their way in as they look like your common orb weaving garden spider. Although I'm happy to be corrected if not Lovely specimens of course.

They were on the outside, Ian, thank goodness. I'm definitely arachnophobic so getting close enough to get this shot with a 65mm lens was all I could do. The whole time all I could think of was what should I do if one or all of these babies leapt onto my camera? Tossing a 1DMKIV and the attached lens far away wouldn't have been a great idea!

I'm somewhat arachnaphobic myself. I'll happily photograph them but won't let them on me. That said little tiny ones like that wouldn't bother me

Thanks Brian. I am not good (yet) at identifying my subjects. But, I'm learning, thanks to this group.
