A collection from today - with 2 "Firsts!"

Managed to get a bit of time to myself today and went to two nearby locations - the reclaimed waste land adjacent to Preston's dock area, and oddly enough, a small ditch at the side of an offshoot from the nearby bypass.

There are fly photos, ladybird photo's, moth photo's and my first ever photographs of two different sawfly.

And the first recordings for me of two sawfly species:

This sawfly is the Rhogogaster viridis, the Green sawfly.800sawflyviridis1.jpg

And finally the Figwort Sawfly, again, never seen one before like the above green, though there were maybe 4 of them flying around the bank of the ditch were these were found:
