I have just heard of the tragic news of Lord Lichfields passing.

I think the photographic world has lost a great ambassador, a man i have always looked upon as a straight talker and a firmly grounded man.

I would like to offer my greatest respect to you sir, and say you will be greatly missed.

For me personally, i have, since being a little boy admired your work and envied your position. To be able to photograph the upper echelons of the aristocracy and rich and famous, and always be able keep your feet firmly on the ground, sir i salute you and say i personally will miss you and the world of photography will be a lesser place without you.

Lord please look after this man, goodbye to you
:cry

I didn't know what forum would be most suitable and frankly didn't care, this man i my eyes crossed all social boundries and deserves the greatest respect and i know i'm am not alone. A great photographer and a great man who will be greatly missed.

I think he deserves real respect for being a proper photographer when it would have ben all too easy to take the easy route. Yes, he produced some pretty standard tho' high quality royal family album shots but his fashion work was of the highest standard, witty and edgy. I think some of his early b&w work photographing stage productions and stars of the stage was his best.
