Car shot location scouting

I have a customer interested in getting some photos of his 60's drag car before it is sold and wants photos with period correct location. I posed my Camero in place of his vehicle to get the idea of possible angles.

I like the contrast between the buildings and the cars. But I'm not sure if any of the buildings are period correct.
'60s architecture has a more modern look to it. Buildings like those at NCAR (Boulder) are more representative of the 1960's style.
There are also more ultra modern buildings like the terminal at LAX too.

In all of the shots you've provided here, the location is more
dominant than the vehicle. I can see you'd want an appropriate
background, but make sure the photograph features the
    vehicle and not the location.

When I think 60s and cars, I think gas stations, drive in movie theaters and car-hop type restaurants.

Thank you guys I will check out boulder and try and find some drive in movies. Sadly most of the older gass stations I have found have been updated quite a bit with different pumps and advertising all over the place. I agree on having the car being the obvious point of focus on an image I was really trying to have the different scenes as the main priority in these so I could show them to my customer. I figured a empty shot with a building is nice but doesnt get much attention to the intention of the sceen without a vehicle.

There's nothing wrong with the buildings you chose. If you use a shallow DOF that works for the subject and does a decent job hiding the buildings.

Yup. Put some distance between the building and the car for better bokeh
