How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

None of these look like Elephants, Cheetah, Lion, Snake, Antelopes, Kudu, Bush Buck, or anything else we saw in Africa last week :whip

Three bodies, two TCs and one lens? But you did get some very nice images while you were up at SAAF.

I'll have to drop by more often and watch for your work from Africa.

Thanks Dan, I used 4 cameras at the rookery this year (D4, D3, D3s, and the D300). However I only used two at a time. These pics are from mutiple visits. On my first visit I had left my TCs at home so I used the D300 a lot for the extra DX reach. Once I got the D4 I shot with the D4 and D3s.

I usually use the 300mm f/4 and the 70-200 2.8 at the rookery with the 1.4, 1.7 and 2.0 TCs. I used to bring up the 200-400 and/0rthe 500mm also along with a tripod but I usually didn't need the reach. Also with all the other photographers there with their tripods it was beginning to get to be battle to find the space in the spot where you wanted to set up. Using the shorter lenses gave me more freedom to move around for the captures I wanted.

I started out with the D3, D3s, and the D300. Then the D4 arrived and I sold the D3 and loaned the D300 out, Then the D800E arrived and now I'm reconsidering my options. I just may sell the D4 and buy another D800 and keep the D3s when I need the high frame rate and/or the low light performance.
