Wash Your Blues Away

For all you Northerners who are feeling the cold ....already. Just picture yourself on a warm Florida beach watching the pelicans float aimlessly about in the Gulf 'O' Mexico. Had some wonderful light and reflection for this shot. Kind of scary...as it's approaching that "funky Nikon blue". Not over saturated or tweaked with color change/enhancement. Little exposure comp. (darken) and contrast boost and sharpening. I'm wondering if that "funky blue" isn't the reflection of the marina storage garage (looming behind me for this shot). The storage facility is huge and BLUE.

? :dunno

Worked up a few more shots in PP this morning. Different locations and pelicans. They all start to look the same after a bit. :D

Weekend's going o.k. Hope you are enjoying your pizza. :D The shots could be a bit dark. ne_nau.gif Could be my monitor...also. They were taken late in the afternoon/early evening. Might have something to do with it. rolleyes1.gif That first one...still looks "fake". I'm wondering about these new fangled DSLRs and PP conversions. I've seen more unrealistic looking colors/things with digital images. I know some are tweeked too much...but even some of my own...with only minor enhancements..sometimes look "weird". The RAW image of that first one..looked unusual right from the start. Pass the pizza...maybe that'll help. thumb.gif

Nice shots Mike. They look a tad dark to me as well, but still good shots.

Thanks Steve. I could easily lighten them a bit in PS. Perhaps I have a bright monitor. heheehe . Stupid thing. Might be time to readjust/calibrate the thing. Probably could use a new one...if truth be know. Would like a whole new 'puter..but will spend that money on new glass instead I've got an eye on a 300/400 mm f/2.8 that I MUST HAVE! :uhoh ()

Good shots Mike. Don't you just feel the pain of our northern brethren as they hunker down for their cold winters. rolleyes1.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Harry. Ben says they are too dark and lacking any real pineapple.

The only good "Snow Bird" is one that stays at home and guards the nest. :D

They will be here soon enough. Actually...I've noticed an increase in traffic and now you have to wait for dinner when you go out. Grrrrrr.

I get a kick out of watching WGN out of Chicago on cable. I use to watch the news on Ch. 9 back home. I can still watch it down here. Nothing like seeing the weather reports in Dec./Jan. and realizing our temps are running about 40* warmer on average.
