Go team - Family portraits
I try to get a decent family portrait once a year when we vacation at Callaway Gardens. My wife coordinated our clothes, despite my efforts this year to just have non-contrasting clothing. I think it makes us look like an atheletic team.:dunno

4. I like this one because I don't have many photos with just my son. This was actually just a lighting test shot. Unfortunately, I was leaning on the chair and wrinkled my shirt.:cry

Natural selection is responsible for every living thing that exists.
D3s, D500, D5300, and way more glass than the wife knows about.
Get rid of the silly chair... It's a bear that SITS in the woods...
Maybe a picnic blanket or a log or in my case I have a huge fake
posing rock would have been a better choice than a chair.
And you're right... Totally wrong clothes for this environmental portrait.
I personally hate hate hate matching clothes... To me it looks like a family
on their way to Disneyland. Haha
Last thing... Hands... Keep an eyeball on the hands... In your first image... What do you see that really doesn't or shouldn't be there?
Now back to your lighting... Simply gorgeous light. Love the hair light and the Rim/backlight on shoulders.
With that lighting and a little work on your posing you will have families lining up...
Nicely done

Nice job, just take care of props according to place.
To me, clothing is a matter of taste and in this case locks a group together.

Love the light.
I love the matching clothes but as cowboydoug stated perhaps not the best choice in the woods
Great job overall
