Roads to Somewhere

I have barely picked up my camera in recent months, stuck in a creative rut. I pulled out some of my old shots, looking for inspiration. I was drawn to my road shots since I am on a journey of a sort. I'm not sure where the road will lead artistically, but I know it will soon take me back to Maine! I am headed there in August and this time will be on the coast for part of the time. I'm hoping new sites will make for new inspiration.

For those of you who are on your own journeys, here are a few road shots. C&C always appreciated.

Good Shooting!

Lauren

I really like #1 and #4 Lauren! #1 REALLY gives the illusion of speed. I think it is great!!

    Thanks, Alex.

Thanks, Ron. Speed is definitely illusory here--I was taking a slow walk and practicing with my Lensbaby. I find it very hard to use but it can give some interesting results.

Good stuff, Lauren. I think we all hit flat spots in our photography interest level occasionally. I'll be interested to see what you produce from the Maine trip.

    Take care,

Lauren, We will have to see what we can find for you when you return to Maine. I like #4 for the angle you shot from in addition to the colors.

Great set. Love that you were confident enough to keep the roads off-center. #2 is gold for me.

Thanks, everybody! I appreciate all the comments and encouragement.

Joel - I use Photomatix Pro. Haven't used it for a while. This shot was actually from about 3 years ago.

Knapp - I'm waiting to hear my family's schedule so I can see what day I can head to Portland and finally meet up with you and Ella. I will be in touch by IM.

Thanks, Lauren. I used to use Photomatix Pro quite a bit around that era as well. Over time they kept changing the UI, and I've never been able to reproduce work like this with it since.

Thank you, Randy! This is a little church in the country east of San Antonio. It's one of my favorite areas to explore. Come on down sometime.
