Dinner Time

I was sitting on the porch this evening with my dog and a hawk flew in and landed in a tree about 20 feet from me. He wasn't paying attention to me so I thought, quick run and grab the camera! Then my dog barked and I saw why the hawk wasn't interested in me. He was hoping this guy would drop his dinner and give him a shot at it.

These aren't top notch captures due to my excitement in the moment but I am still happy to have been able to see this.

He cruises across the front yard with his trophy catch...

Up over the rock wall....

And off into the desert to enjoy his summer evening meal......

The rabbits have been going after my landscaping this year so both the bobcat and I are now happy.

Maybe all pussy-cat behinds, but I would love to snap the same series as yours. thumb.gif

I know, I was bummed I didn't have the camera when he first appeared so I missed all the face shot opportunities. I guess I could have tried yelling at him to see if he would turn around and look but I figured he needed to focus on taking his dinner back to his family. ne_nau.gif

Pretty cool to have the opportunity to see nature at work in your back yard.
