Cant read a friends 350 shots with CS2..maybe locked

A friend has a 350D & just got back from a long trip. He wanted to try some enhancing on my computer with CS2 but we cant open any of his shots with CS2 ...keep getting msg "cant open this type of file" Now i tripple checked that they are RAW....he only shoots in RAW.
So i decided not to keep trying to read them off his CD's & put his CF card in my 20D & could see them no worries in my camera LCD. I even tried looking at the shots straight from his CF card in my card reader to no avail.
The canon suppied software (DPP) opens them no worries. The only thing different about each individual photo file is the symbol of a small lock under it when im trying to open it with CS2.

Your version of ACR is probably just old enough that it won't do the 350D files.
