Visited the Planes Of Fame Air Museum this weekend. It dawned on me that there was really just a short span of time between when the Wright Bros. first flew and when there were planes used in WWI. So, I thought that some of these might meet the challenge theme.

First In Flight...

I really like #2, but I don't like the chain that is in the lower left in front of the plane. It's a bit distracting for me.

At first (quick) glance I'm favoring the last two, #'s 4 + 5. I'm a sucker for flags and I like your treatment in that one and in 4 although it's a bit busy, I think the elements in the photo contribute to the story for this theme: the maps, the visible word army and I like how the colors of the main plane help it stand out. I like #2, but I think #3 might be more popular in black and white.
