5D MIII and Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM APO

I am looking into getting a telephoto lens for my 5D MIII (to complement my 24 to 200mm range). This lens has very attractive price of around 1000USD. I wish there was a local store for me to try this lens out..... Anyone out there with the combo? Please share your thoughts.

    The 5DMkIII is going to be very demanding of absolutely first rate glass.

    I own a Sigma 150-500 ( without OS ), and while useful, mine is no match for any of Canon's L glass telephotos. I have found Canon's 70-300 IS L to be quite worthwhile, as is the 300 f4 IS L, and the 300f2.8 IS L and the 500 f4 IS L. My spouse's Sigma 120-300 f2.8 IS quite sharp.

    Perhaps others have a more favorable opinion of the Sigma 150-500 than mine.
