Max file size for images?

I just tried uploading a 60.6 MB file from a Nikon D800 jpeg and was told the file is too large.
What is the max file size allowed?

Does SM not support the D800 file sizes straight out of camera? I am sure the D800 files will be around 70 MB as the one I was uploading was slightly cropped.

Would be a shame to be forced to downsize files. Hope I am missing something.
Cheers,
Monte

    Hi,

    The limit on photos is:

    50 megabytes and 100 megapixels

D800 files are not 60 or 70Mb SOOC. Can you tell me for a fact that you have a JPG that's 60+ MB right from the camera? If so I want to see it myself, and can give you a drop box link.

You are correct. I was not accurate saying SOOC.

What I usually do is open RAW file in Lightroom. Make adjustments and export to PhotoShop. The files are around 26 MB.
What I have been doing recently is making 24x36 prints from the files and those are 60 to 70 MB.

Sorry about the post. Delete it if you like so it doesn't cause confusion.

If you print via our labs, there is no need to uprez your files (especially from a D800!) :D

    I know, I shouldn't be uprezing them but it's a bad habit from the 12MP D700...

I have an Epson 7880 and use the ImagePrint RIP. I must tell you that the large format prints I do order from you are less expensive and quality is comparable. The only thing that is noticeably different is the paper. WHCC Lustre is noticeably thinner in weight than the Epson premium lustre I use.

As my ink and paper supply runs out I am not replacing it any longer, the Epson is proving to be much too costly to operate as a hobbyist. Another unwise investment ...
