Yet more fungi

Here are some fungi from the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. These were all found in a small area which was probably no more than 50 feet across. I don't think that I have ever seen so many different colors and type of fungi before in one place.

Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Love the colors. We don't have this type of fungi where I am. Way too dry!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Very nice! Your shots actually make the "fungi" pretty!

Too dry here in Phoenix for that or for the falling leaves, so I appreciate getting to see fall through the eyes of everyone here. Thanks!

    Thanks everybody.

Did anyone catch that the top photo was a 15 second exposure? The second was 1 second and the third was 8/10th of a second. They were all shot at f/22. The reason the top one required such a long exposure was because the light coming in from the top right was blowing the top of the mushrooms. I had a friend hold a large card to block the light to bring down the highlights on the top of the mushrooms.

As mentioned earlier these were all shot within about a 50 foot or less radius. It was almost like a bog. There were 4 or 5 other types of fungi there as well, but these were the most colorful

Very nice images. The strange thing is that this stuff is neat to photograph. This year I did not find any thing that was worth shooting.

Love the colours in these images. Good job.

Thank you Dennis. They do sometimes have some unique shapes and color - or their surroundings make them worth the effort. This particular bog was a goldmine with the different types and colors.
