Do Woodpeckers Skate?

Taken in April ...

When I was photographing the Robins a Woodpecker came flying in. It didn't know there was ice on the water. Almost slide right out and then tried walking on the ice vs flying off of it.

    I'd say in the second picture that he is chewing out the robins for not warning him about the ice :D

    Happy to hear you enjoyed these :D You might be right .. the Woodpecker could of been chewing out the Robins :D

    rolleyes1.gifIn the second image I thought he might be saying "stop laughing, this ain't funny". Since neither of the Robins moved they must have been unimpressed :D

    Howdy ...

    The Woodpecker kept sliding around on the ice till he finally made it to the left edge. Those claws of his didn't do him any good. It was fun to watch .. gave me a good few minutes of entertainment rolleyes1.gif
