Gallery links question

A gallery link obtained from "Share > Gallery Links tab > Gallery" is different from the url on the first page of that gallery. Both function when provided to someone to send them to the gallery. Is there any reason to use one over the other?

    You can use either method :-) They'll both bring a visitor to the same location. It's really just a matter of your preference.

    The first page of the gallery will also have a link to the first image in the gallery.

    I always remove the photo in the link after the # sign. I want the first page to show and not a photo position.
    More photos can be added or the gallery sorted differently and who knows where the linked photo will be
    in the gallery. It might have even been deleted.
