A slow day in the Wetlands

Hey you'll,

What a bummer yesterday. I hooked up with two friends and we shot at the wetlands. Man was it sloooow!bncry.gif No eagles, no caracaras, no large groups of birds. I did manage to get these shots

a northern shoveler

a Greater Yellowleg
44318079-O.jpg

a snowy egret
44318082-O.jpg

a Least Sandpiper
44318084-O.jpg

a Broad-Winged Hawk
44318086-O.jpg

A Green Heron on a bad hair day
44318088-O.jpg

a little ole gator
44318091-O.jpg

As I was culling out shots I did some quick math. I had around 245 shots of 18 different species of birds and I had passed up shots on another 12 varieties for various reasons. I had seen over 30 different birds and animals in a few hours.

The only thing slow about the day was a certain photographer who had become so spoiled that he could not appreciate what he had in front of his face.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    And I think
I'm lucky to see two varieties of sea gulls (only one or two of each) starlings, red wing blackbirds and Yuck - pigeons!

If I'm lucky mallards (they hide in the reeds) and a stray coromorant!

All way beyond the scope of my 200mm!

But then I see some tourist snapping pics of "my" beach while I won't bother getting out of the car! Yeah spoiled, I can relate to that. rolleyes1.gif

    May I take your picture?

Great shots Harry. I know what you mean about not being able to appreciate what we have. I think we all have that flaw at times.

Its not easy having all these birds to shoot. After awhile you figure they all should be there posing for you. Every once in awhile you have to step back and realize how lucky you are.
