The vehicles in my apartment building have been vandalized alot lately. Broken windows, slashed tires, paint on trucks, etc.

Well guess what last night was my turn:cry

All this was caused by a 20lb rock left next to my truck windshield:

As you can see in the 2nd pic it bounced off the window and left some nice scratches in the hood and passenger side fender. It will cost about $350 dollars and a missed day at work to get it fixed.:wxwax

WTF is wrong with people. I did my fair share of pranks when I was a kid but never caused damage like this. TPing someones front yard didn't cost them much more than an hour clean up time. What is wrong with kids these days that they think this is some form of entertainment. Do they not realize that things like this can can hardships for people or do they just plain NOT care. They didn't take anything just threw the rock and left. A neighbor saw a little red car leaving later last night with a bunch of kids all running to jump in the car. Hopefully they are stupid enough to return to the seen of the crime, then the real smashing will begin.

Anyways thanks for letting me rant.

Thats no good at all eric ! I wonder what they think about the next day...you know as if it has given them a brief high or something. Yep i got up to a lot of crazy kids stuff but never ever did i damage property...if my father had caught me doing that i would still be looking for a place to land !

If it is a regular event in the complex then i would be camping out under a car...but im a bit weird like that. I like to hand out retribution to wrong-doers personally.

Its a world wide thing as i just came back from a walk around our building & i noticed several cars in our street had their side mirrors ripped off last night.

Just a though but what about attatching a few of those small dummy camera domes around the place ? They are cheap & may work.

Very sorry to see this. Yes - kids today, some of them just have no regard. My neighbor got "donutted" - his whole front yard torn up by kids driving in circles - thousands of dollars to repair.... makes me want to have 24/7 security cameras outside - if only for the satisfaction of finding the buggers and showing up at the front door with the state troopers...

Cam security systems are cheap and easy to setup. Or you can just wait up till they come back and drap the rock on their heads. Me I would dress all in black, hide under the cars, and when they come back, Make them cry like when the doctor slapped em on their butt when they were born. They need the fear put into them.

I know the fieeling..:uhoh My very fist car was scratched beyond recognition the very first year I moved to US. Some punk kid..
I don't know what else to say.. I was later able to afford the house in a nice community and basically those types of problems ceased to exist...
Hope you'll get over it soon!1drink.gif

Dont worry about the clothes mate

I had a bloke break into my unit one night & i got up to see what the noise was & found him cowering terrified (i remember thinking at the time "what a bloody little whimp you are..at least put up a fight).. he jumped off my 2nd story balcony.

It wasnt til later that i realised it was 4am & i was naked as a jaybird.

Saved me the effort of throwing him off it anyway.

Thanks for all the ideas. Don't think I will be getting alot of sleep tonight. Dug out my 6-dcell flashlight to carry when I make my rounds.

I'm guessing the guy was cowering cuz you were naked Gusrolleyes1.gif

Hoping for a return to the scene of the crime,

So sorry to hear this Eric. Is there anything the apt complex can do for you?

I saw a young man in the ER die from injuries sustained when some kid tossed a rock off an interstate overpass. I thought I raised some serious hell when I was a kid, but this is a whole new level...really sick stuff.

I hope you catch the little chachis and I'm so glad you or susan weren't hurt in all this BS.

    Hang in there bro!

Hate to see this kind of crap in your neighborhood.
When we lived in town we had some tire slashing incidents. My husband got tired of it and camped out in the bushes to wait for them. He had this big idea he was going to take some chains and throw then to tangle up their feet. Laughing.gif They came a few nights later and he tried the chain trick. It didn't work. As they were running down the street he threw a full can of beer at them and hit them in the head knocking them down. It was so funny! He was able to hold them down while I called the police.

I hope they catch whoever did this.
