We can get away with a lot in this genre that wouldn't be acceptable
to others, but I think the partial head of the woman, and the chopped
pigeon, is pushing it.
I could go for just legs of the woman, but there's too much of her,
but not quite enough of her, showing. The headless man is less of
a problem because he's far less prominent.
Wish the kid was doing something with that stick. He's not really
connected with the pigeon, so that can't be it.
You are correct in your observations... except that the child just chased the pidgeon, which is circling back into the shot (alas, on the edge). I actually liked the play of the shadows behind the kid, though the bird shadow is likely from another bird.
