Here's Part Two of my trip to the Badlands.

I woke up to a great sunrise to match the great sunset of yesturday.

A full day of hiking, climbing and photography was ahead of me, so after I filled up on oatmeal (easy to make when bike camping), I headed out.

The landscape here is otherworldly. Some of the trails take you back into the canyons where there is nothing but rock and dirt, nothing growing. Makes you feel like you are on an other planet.

Yes, the badlands are "bad". I was there earlier this year. I will try to post a few shots on my own thread. Great job capturing the area. Never got a sunrise there and have wanted to. Will have to arrange it next trip.

They're even more strange than the Petrified Forest. Great shots. The first and last are my favorites.

Very nice shots, CJ. It's been many years since I passed through the badlands. Your shots make me want to get back there soon. thumb.gif

I love the clouds in the first two shots. Badlands are very high on my "must see" list but it looks like a tricky place to shoot because there's so much around. [strike]And I take it it's hot this time of year?[/strike] Scratch that, I just saw your other thread.

Very nice shots. I took some shot of the Bandlands last year.

I agree with schmoo and really like the clouds in the first two. The first one with the shadow from the cloud is awesome.thumb.gif

Very nice. Enjoyed both sets. The Badlands are an awesome place to visit, and it has been about 20 years since I was there. Did you happen to get any shots of the Prairie Dog town at the entrance? (if it is still there)
