Spotted what I thought was a largish potter wasp on the kitchen ceiling so I trapped it with a glass and piece of card and realised it was not a wasp but possibly a snipe fly. Then changed my mind again when looking at the pics and decided it must be a stiletto fly Thereva nobilitata female - only the second time I've seen one of these. Eventually released it outside onto a gaillardia flower
Focus stacked using zerene stacker.
