is there a way to override this

i would like to add photos to a smart gallery and have it password protected so that i can let certain people be able to download image or right click and save.

If you want different settings you will need to upload the photos into a second (not smart) gallery and set the gallery properties as desired. I don't believe there is any way to override the galley settings of the original gallery.
