i like the concept, but i've never seen purple or magenta-colored rust...
Well Rocky, I hadn't either until I saw the work of several of the "Rust Junkies" here in Other Cool Shots. The compositions are very often more abstract than this shot, but they convinced me that it was OK to dink with the LR sliders all you want when rust is involved - I tried it and found it liberating to have an excuse to not be as color realistic as with other subjects. Try it - but be cafeful - as Juano said, you might never be the same!
Thanks Cristobal!
Now, all I have to do is convince Rocky I haven't lost my mind!

! i might at that. i've done a few "rust" shots , but i've tended to keep the colors, if not the saturation, as close to reality as possible. maybe i'll go find me a nice rusty old RR bridge and see what i can come up with...

Going with the flow here, it seems that it is becoming permissible and PC to s-l-i-g-h-t-l-y tweak the saturation slider from about 2% to around 85% on rust shots. OK by me. :giggle

Let's face it. When you enter the realm of us RUST JUNKIES, you have to be prepared to accept the bizarre and over-the-top PP that we indulge in. We're really in our element when the sliders are flying in every direction. There's wonderment in rust that will only show up when you get super aggressive with the controls.
Delving into the abstract seems to be more accommodating of our approach....the absolute variance from reality we favor is fostered more readily in the abstract world. It is an addictive environment we RUST JUNKIES thrive in; be careful if you elect to cross the line into our world.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Uh-Oh....only 85%.....oops - its possible I may have over-done it.

You've found some cool colors in this train .. great title too
One never knows what colors will pop up when working with rust. You've found some color that has me itching to go out and finds some myself
Thanks Mary!
There seems to be an outbreak of rust today - you better scratch that itch!
I'm headed out myself right now to find some new rust - RUST or BUST!
