I haven't shared in QUITE a while, so I thought I would copy a fun set from my blog just to say hello! :wave

Oxana and Ivan... how I love these two, and their story.

<img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="www.ambienceak.com" src="http://www.ambienceak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Brik-4728-Edit.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="900" />

You might recognize Oxana from my blog or from many of my weddings where I have been privileged to have her for my excellent second shooter. Oxana is an award winning photographer with a home in both Russia and America.

And that is the start of their story.

<img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="www.ambienceak.com" src="http://www.ambienceak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Brik-4730-Edit.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="900" />

How Oxana and Ivan came to be is a really romantic tale... filled with many nights of lonely tears spent apart. She and Ivan met in Russia... fell in love... and married... four... long... years... ago. But there was a problem... Ivan had no visa to come to America. And in order for Oxana to keep her American Visa, (which is where they would build their lives together) she had to be in America at least 6 months of the year, and Ivan could not come. So for the last four years, these two have been married... from afar... 6 months a year in a different country and culture. Oxana spent her time working to pay for plane tickets for her trips back and forth to be with her husband.

<img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="www.ambienceak.com" src="http://www.ambienceak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Brik-4760-Edit-2-Edit.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="720" />

<img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="www.ambienceak.com" src="http://www.ambienceak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Brik-4775-Edit.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="900" />

Finally, In May, Ivan got his American visa, and the two of them are now together full time, for the first time.

<img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="www.ambienceak.com" src="http://www.ambienceak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Brik-4813-Edit.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="900" />
When she was sharing their story on one of our long road trips, Oxana said it something like this: "I have been so happy. I can't believe he is finally here! I used to be so sad all the time, but now I am so happy, I can't stop smiling."

<img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="www.ambienceak.com" src="http://www.ambienceak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Brik-4839-Edit.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="900" />

Their story of love and determination to be together is a beautiful thing. I wish you could ask Oxana or Ivan to share more details, because the tale in its fullness is really beautiful.

<img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="www.ambienceak.com" src="http://www.ambienceak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Brik-4881-Edit.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="720" />

<img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="www.ambienceak.com" src="http://www.ambienceak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Brik-4884.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" />

<img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="www.ambienceak.com" src="http://www.ambienceak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Brik-4939.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="900" />

Yes... He would follow her anywhere.

C & C always adored.

    Wow...

    Just a spectacular set, with or without the wonderful story. I see why you are too busy to post more!

    I really love the post work you chose for the third image from the top.

    This, along with the "Dickens Style Christmas" family you posted a long time ago, are my personal favorite "people" images ever posted on Dgrin.

    ...Guess I'll go to the bar now and try to deal with my feelings of photographic inadequacy! :D

    Fun couple, love the outfits and settings.
    That third shot, with her sitting on the bag is special.

    I too love the third one... It just goes to show you that a little extra effort is always worth it.
    That was a "three trip to the car" shot.
    I decided I needed my second flash for the slight rim light... I had left in the car... and then it was out of batteries (of course) ... and then was misbehaving, so I switched to another one. But it was worth it to make her pop out from that background!

    GREAT SET and you should post more often even if it is just a couple of the shoot and edit shoot and edit. Just hit the forum and copy the link after you upload them to your site. Great job.

    I mostly do weddings and engagements... so it isn't likely you'll see that much in the regular "people" section anyway. Oh I do models, babies, families and seniors every now and then too. But mostly weddings (because they pay pretty darn nicely, haha)
