Junior Brown :bow gave a free concert in downtown Kansas City last night.

    I love this. Really. Composition, hook, story, reflection. Wow!

    This on the other hand has problems. Why no deep shadow? Why the low contrast?

    And what's the story?

    The other two of Junior Brown performing are also wonderful. I know how hard it is to shoot performances of this sort. So there is a high degree of difficulty as well.
    If not now, when?

    Thanks for the comments Rutt. This shot is a case of me screwing up a chance for a decent people shot. These three were standing around talking waiting for the show. All three had great expresions during parts of their conversation, and of course they had that great rock-a-billy look.

    I have to admit I'm not familiar with Junior Brown, so could you explain what the heck that instrument is that he's playing????

    Gladly!

    He's playing the Guitsteel. A combo of a standard electric guitar and a steel guitar. Junior is the only person who plays the Guitsteel. As far as I know there are only two in the world. Old Yeller, which is now in the Country Music Hall of Fame, and Big Red.
