Had the kayak out tonight with the 400mm, was fortunate that the GBH allowed me to visit.

Great set. I took some a month or so ago, but not near this quality.

Sharp and nicely exposed - the low angle of the light works well with the low POV.
    Excellent!

Really good shots, Monte. #5 with the dragon fly is especially cool.

I'm curious about your set up for shooting from the Kayak. From your EXIF it seems that you're using a good size lens. I'd like to do some kayak shooting, but I'd be scared as hell about getting my equipment dunked. Not to mention the technical aspects of keeping a long lens stable from a small craft like that. Any tips you can share?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Not really, I am just going on my own with this so far. I am using a 400mm lens on an FX body so not the greatest reach but the IQ is outstanding.
Never shot from a kayak before but here is a pic of my set up. ( it paddles much easier in water)

I love the spiky hair do in #2. All are great, and thank you for showing your setup.
