Is the Facebook Share button and option available on galleries with a password?

I thought so but I just created a gallery and when I set a password, the option to share to Facebook is not available. The buttons below the photos are also gone. I have the Share option set in the gallery settings so I'm a little confused. :scratch

It's not available. That would be bad, if there was a share from Facebook, the link would go to a password protected gallery and the visitor would go "huh?" eek7.gif

Laughing.gif. Long day Andy. That makes total sense now. I left my brain at home today.

    Hi Andy,
Is there any way around this for Clients who want their specific Client Gallery Protected but want to share the password with those they are/wish to "Facebook"? Thus, enabling the Share to Facebook to work? I completely get WHY Protected Galleries are not "Shareable" but, for all intents and purposes, why not? As you said, the worst that happens is the people who are being shared to, link to the Password Protection, and those who she chooses to have the password, can then access it as she wants. In her case, she can't have it public or unlisted, for anyone to possibly come across and then be able to see the contents - but she wants family and friends to see it, without having to email each and everyone the password... Does my question seem redundant? I realize there are workarounds, but a share button seems to be an ideal choice.

Your client could post the link on Facebook and in the text of the post include the password. To copy the link, she could use the share > get a link > gallery links option. And then she would just need to paste the link on Facebook and add the password as part of the post.
