Nice, Joel. Nice composition, depth of field, and lighting. I've never seen these guys all zonked out and dried out like this. Usually there are a few up and barking. And the dryness in the soft light really shows off the color of the fur.

Thanks very much, John. It was quite a spectacle. And yes, there were a few up and barking, I just didn't show any in that particular scene.

Seals are very controversial in San Diego - folks either love 'em or hate 'em for their take-over of some beach areas.

Seals are very controversial in San Diego - folks either love 'em or hate 'em for their take-over of some beach areas.
They're actually protected in the Monterey Bay area which is nice. I think most people enjoy them. But every once in a while one ends up shot which is a real bummer. These animals have so much personality they seem almost human sometimes.
