Can someone help/explain feeds to me?

So I have RSS Graffiti set up on FB. And I am still a little confused about feeds so please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

First and foremost I need help with someone explaining how to setup RSS Graffiti on FB - I go to "add source" type in my url (www.makeitabradford.com) and it tells me it is unable to process this feed. I clearly need to setup something on my smugmug end but I have no clue what or where.

Having a feed, will essentially post to my FB page (twitter too right?) whenever I say add a new gallery (say a new show to my Concerts gallery or destination in my travels gallery) or add new images to a gallery I already have set up. THAT is what I want to do - if feeds cannot do that, is there something that can so I don't have to go manually posing my galleries in places?

Please someone help!
Bradford

    Hi Bradford,

The link to your homepage is not a feed link. To get a feed link, go to any gallery and use the share button > get a link > feed links tab. There you can choose from different feeds or create your own. You can have a feed for your whole site, specific galleries and much more. For more details, take a look at the feeds help page

Alternatively, you could also go to your homepage, where your browser should show you a feed / RSS or something like that button somewhere. In Firefox you can access feeds through the bookmarks button:

Clicking on any of the feeds, opens it up. That gives you the feed url that you could add to other services that support feeds.

Ok - i see that for each individual gallery, but what about "category"?
For example - how do I set up a feed on RSS grafitti so that it posts to my page whenever a new gallery is added to my concerts category
    http://www.makeitabradford.com/Concerts
And when that happens, can I set it up so that when it posts that, there is a link that then brings you directly to the new gallery?

I am just confused by this one aspect because if I have to manually go in and do this for each new gallery, I don't understand what the "quick" aspect is to RSS stuff that people telling me about and why I should do it lol.

I just want all this to work for galleries only and not including my clients proofing section.

    How do I do that?
    Bradford

There are no category specific feeds at this point. It's not possible to exclude certain categories from a feed either.

I'd suggest you take a look at the recent galleries or recent photos feed for this purpose as it would cover your public galleries.
