Watermarks Follow Photos or Gallery Settings?

So here's the scenario. Gallery1 has watermark X. Gallery2 has watermark Y. Gallery settings for Gallery1 are to automatically watermark with X. Gallery settings for Gallery2 are to automatically watermark with Y.

The question what is supposed to happen with the watermark when all the images from Gallery1 with watermark X are moved to Gallery2 with watermark Y using the bulk move tool. I assumed that the images will retain watermark X in Gallery2, but I don't see any consistent behavior. :scratch

Any assistance appreciated.

I think unless you generate new display copies the watermark will not change.

Watermarks will retain their settings as from when they were watermarked. Moving them to a new gallery with different watermark settings will NOT change their watermark.

Thank you for the clarification Andy. I saw the first image in a gallery change it's watermark, but since then it's changed back. Was confusing to say the least.
