tried my 1st birds in flight while out on the open water. Not easy. I learned you can never have too much zoom and this is the 1st time I was wishing for more megapixels.

    If you need more reach, I've had very good results with the latest version of the 2X teleconverter on the 70-200 VrII.

    Yes, I have it! I promptly left it on the cruise ship and when we went whale/eagle watching. I am still kicking myself.
