This was part of a trip I took recently on a crab boat to catch pictures for a restaurant in Baltimore :nod

There was only one other crab boat out on the water when we first got out there.

This tool is critical to their work. When the pull the buoys out of the water, this device pulls the crab pot up (which would be a lot harder if you were pulling it up manually)

These are awesome! I wish there were a few more that kind of "set the scene", because you have a lot of excellent detail shots, and other, closer, images. With that said, it's a great little story you've got here!

Yes the last one stands out to me as well, must have been difficult photographing on a boat? Good job !

When the boat was moving slowly it was no big deal but when we were moving at good speeds, keeping balance while trying to shoot was less fun lol.

You mean like wider shots of the whole boating area? (there wasn't a whole lot of room lol)

I have more of the crew:

I think the crew shots are great, and need to be part of your series.

Very nicely done, though I'd like to see more crab shots, and more of the crew working. Also, I would stick to color, or black and white - but probably color, and not mix the two here. But again, you've got some very nice work here.

I've got some crabs getting it on (awkward to see for the first time). rolleyes1.gif

I definitely have these all processed in b/w and color separated on my computer at home.

And thank you for the kind words :D

Nice series... The crew and the trappings are real good, but my favorite was the sunrise; I've never seen that treatment

    Good work

That pic is getting blown up and throw on a wall in my house. I don't know what it was that drew me to taking that picture but I LOVE IT. clap.gif

EDIT: I reread what you wrote and I'm still not sure what you meant about treatment lol

I bumped the saturation, fixed the white balance, and added contrast lol. The shot is just a couple steps from SOOC. mwink.gif

After looking at my lightroom steps, apparently I went back and forth from color and b/w about twenty times rolleyes1.gif

Loved your work here, Wally. Your framing and composition is great. Every shot has a story to tell. I'm inspired. Thanks for sharing. thumb.gifthumbthumb.gifclap.gifclapclap.gif
