Not purely street photography since this was shot inside a doughnut restaurant. Thanks for viewing.

It absolutely is Street photography and a good one at that. I love the emptiness of the room with one old lady and your choice to post in black and white works well.

Many thanks, David. It took me a while before I was able to press the shutter button on this one. I really waited for that time when she's looking at the window thinking of something while holding her coffee.

Interesting capture! I like the pattern of the white chairs broken up by the big black chair she is sitting in.

I'm inclined to suggest a tight crop w her & her table.

Maybe you could get the texture/spots of her weathered face.

Nice job (maybe a little straightening?)

Thanks, Rags. I always prefer to include the surrounding where my main subject is to add detail to my shot hence the composition on this one. I decided not to add extra contrast on her as it would make her skin more aggressive to look at. As for the straightening, I based my adjustment on the picture frames and not on the wall tiles when I straightened this image. Thank you very much for viewing my work. thumb.gif:D

This is a real compelling picture. For some reason, though, I get an odd sense that I shouldn't be looking at the subject person....like I'm some sort of interloper. I think you were right to include all the elements that you have shown. Showing less of the scene would have taken away from the sense of isolation that now prevails. Wonderfully done, my friend.clap.gifclap

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

I like the wide view. If she was sitting on a white chair like the rest
of the chairs, a crop might work. But, the wider view sets her apart
even more because of the dark chair. It emphasizes the "all by herself"
    image.

Thank you very much, my friend for the encouragement. I guess studying a little bit about cinematography has its good results when practicing photography. Thanks, Tom. thumb.gif:D

Thanks a lot, Tony. I guess I was really lucky to be at this place at the right time. When I saw her entered the doughnut shop, she immediately looked at a certain area inside the shop without even looking at the menu at the counter. Then, I overheard her asking the lady manager if she can somehow "borrow" one of the upholstered fabric chairs instead of the wooden ones and place it near the entrance door since there are some yuppies "occupying" her usual spot. That's the reason why her chair looked different. Photographically, it's an advantage for me making her chair stand out from the rest. I'm quite glad she really did not notice my camera pointing at her making her expression so genuine. Thanks for viewing my work, Tony. thumb.gif

Thanks a lot, Lensmole. I really like the uniqueness of her chair compared to the rest, too. thumb.gif:D

Hey Jiro, didn't mean the post as a criticism, it was just a stylistic difference...

It's a good shot as is

Oh you're fine, Rags. I know what you mean. I am also merely explaining my style. Thank you. thumb.gif
